Baby Alex's Pink and Grey Nursery Reveal

In honor of my little peanut turning 8 weeks old today, I decided to take this May Grey day to finally reveal what feels like the "secret room" of the house... her nursery!

I'll be honest, the vision in my head of how I wanted to nursery to look was nothing like the end product, but as we continued to get more and more decorative pieces from friends and family, the room started to mesh together in a new dream.

Alex's nursery started in a less than stellar state... more ugly window panels, and the most outdated carpet I've ever seen... 

Pretty rad, right?! It's okay... you can say no. Let's just get right into the changes and think no more about this 80's misplaced room.

The first thing that was added was a fresh coat of paint to get rid of the overbearing off white rental color. For her room I chose Glidden's Smooth Stone which has the perfect neutral grey hue without the added blue tint that I find in so many grey color choices.I then added a pair of curtains I found at Home Goods and placed them all the way at the ceiling to give more height to the tiny room.

I received this glider as a gift off of my shower registry, and paired it with a small and simple side table. Above the glider I added two picture ledges to hold her decor odds and ends.

On the ledge she has her counting blocks, a beautiful painting I got for Christmas from Momma Robin, her stuffed giraffe, and one of my favorite pieces... the book that was signed by all of her guests in the hospital the night she was born

The center wall in the nursery holds her changing table/dresser combo that her lovely grandpa made for her out of an old and tired dresser. 

He added wood trim to hold her changing mattress and I added decorative baskets to the side compartment to hold her diaper warmer, extra diapers, and all of her lotion and toiletry products.

The trim on the changing dresser was painted in Valspars Baby Blush... the perfect peachy-pink color!

I did have a difficult time deciding what to put in each of her dresser drawers and ended up with the following plan...

My favorite drawer in her dresser is definitely her accessories. A little girl can never have enough headbands! And with these drawer dividers, I love the organization that comes with them.

Another difficult task was deciding how I was going to fold her onesies... I tried to fold them like normal t-shirts first and quickly ran out of room. Then Plan B hit!

Lay the onesie face down. Fold in the arms. Fold the booty portion halfway up the onesie. Fold from the bottom again up to the top to make a square. Yay-hooray! Now I can see all of the onesies and prints all at once when I open her drawer!

On the last wall of the nursery I have her crib. I finally settled on a grey crib skirt to offset all of the different pinks I have going on. In the corner I put up paper poms in white, peach and pink and gave the wall a little flair with a burlap A that was purchased at the local Home Goods.

There are still some decorative changes I have been thinking about making, but overall I am happy with how Alex's nursery has turned out! What do you think?
