Morphe Brushes 35K Palette: First Thoughts and Review

When I first heard about Morphe Brushes, I assumed it was just some off brand of cosmetics and like so many before it, would soon disappear from the spotlight. Then I saw a couple more Instagramers posting about it, and then a few more... and then pretty soon I could swear I was seeing this brand everywhere! I went online and checked out their makeup palettes, hoping to score their well known 350 Palette. Alas, to no avail... as it is out of stock and they are only sneaking in select quantities here and there. For shame.

But then I scrolled over, and right next to it was a beautiful neutral color palette that looked like something just up my alley! The brand new 35K Palette, complete with 35 color selections for just $23?! That's only 65 cents a pot, people!

I had to order it and test out this brand that everyone has been talking about. I ordered this on Friday in the late morning. Here's the kicker.... at 8pm Saturday night, this thing was sitting on my doorstep! Umm... what?! I didn't select expedited or overnight shipping... I selected the simple 5-6 day FedEx ground shipping. I was shocked!

I didn't think it could get any more exciting than that.... and then I opened the palette.

Can you hear the choir of angels singing?! The colors are gorgeous and are identical to what is shown online! I instantly needed to play in them! I went for a more subtle look, playing with mostly lighter colors here and loved how pigmented everything is. What's even better... I had this makeup on for about 12 hours... and it was still just as pigmented!

Here's how I created this look:

Colors Used:
1 - Sweep color across entire lid, all the way up to the brow bone
2 - Apply color in crease, blending it just above for more dynamic
3 - Use color to deepen the crease with a condensed fluff shadow brush. Bring it down to the outside of the lid and blend. Using a pencil or slanted brush, bring color across bottom lash line
4 - Using a flat shadow brush, lightly tap color onto center of lid
5 - Use under brow bone and inner eye corners as a highlight
Lastly, I used the matte black color and an slanted brush as an eyeliner for my upper lashes. Perfection!

Other products used:
Revlon ColorStay Foundation in 150 Buff
Ruimio Makeup Contour Kit (sent to me for a review)
L'Oreal Paris Brow Stylist Sculpture in Blonde (Dupe for ABH Brow Wiz!)
Hard Candy Heavy Duty Concealer in Light
Wet & Wild MegaProtein Mascara in Black
Almay Liquid Lip Balm in Rosy Lipped

All in all, I am instantly in love with this palette and company. It's definitely now my new go-to for my everyday eye shadows!
