The Organized Linen Closet

Good afternoon, my lovely readers! ♥
This week we are in week 2 out of 4 of our January Organization Challenge! We are full swing into perfecting that linen closet that needed much help and attention.

Earlier this week I saw that Jen of iHeartOrganizing did an organized linen closet post too... dang! This woman and I seem to have the same thought process! First the coffee cabinet, and now the linen closet! She's always one step ahead of me, and her projects seem like mini-miracles in comparison. But I will say that I think my linen closet needed a little more help to start with... it was in bad shape.

The first thing I needed to do was pull everything out of the closet and remove the outdated contact paper that was currently lining the shelves.

After I removed it, I realized why it was there in the first place. The cabinets are in horrible condition! Being as this is a rental property, there isn't much I can do about it at this point, other than trying to make them a little more eye appealing.

I bought this beautiful decorative wrapping paper, measured out the shelves lengths, and cut pieces accordingly. Nothing fancy, but works perfect for when and if I ever want to switch it out. I love the Navy blue pattern!

I gathered a set of plain white plastic bins from my local Target and measured out the widths. I found I will be able to fit 2 bins per each section of shelf. Perfect!

You may remember seeing these little labels in an earlier post from my closet baskets. I made these a few weeks back knowing that this update was right around the corner. I adheared each of them to the front of a bin to see how they looked.

I used the grey basket to hold my extra TP, and put the teal guest towels next to the "Guests" basket.

What do you think? Do you like the way that it's coming together so far? I am in love with the uniformity that seems to be happening, along with the little splashes of color. It makes such a difference!

Let's look again at what it was before...

And then after...

Yay! Hooray! She's beautiful! And so much more user-friendly!

This makes me even more excited to begin space 3 of 4 next week... The Kitchen! It's going to be a big project. How are you doing with your organization projects so far? I'd love to hear about them!
